Accessibility Statement
Layman's Tax & Accounting wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who rely on a screen reader, screen magnifier, voice control or a keyboard alone.
Our goal
We aim for this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the standard published by the World Wide Web Consortium. We treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a finished task, and we check new pages before they go live.
What we have done
Every page is available in English and Spanish. The site can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator, a link that skips straight to the main content, and a logical heading structure. Text and buttons are designed to meet WCAG color contrast requirements. Our forms have labels, tell screen readers about errors and progress, and work with your browser's autofill. Background videos are decorative, have no sound, and can be paused with the button in the corner of each video section. If your device is set to reduce motion, videos and animations are turned off automatically. Pages can be zoomed and used on screens as narrow as 320 pixels without scrolling sideways.
How we test
We check the site with automated testing tools, including axe-core and Google Lighthouse, and with manual review, including keyboard-only navigation and testing at different zoom levels and screen sizes. No website can promise to be free of every barrier, and we would rather hear about a problem than assume there is none.
Content we do not control
Some services we link to are run by other companies, including our secure client portal (TaxDome), online appointment scheduling (Calendly) and our reviews on Google. We cannot change how those sites are built. If one of them gets in your way, contact us and we will help you another way.
Get help or report a problem
If anything on this site is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, please tell us. We can go over anything on this site with you by phone, send it to you by email, or meet with you in person at our office. It helps to mention the page and what went wrong, but you do not need any technical details.
